Manchester United Seeks Out a Fan to Run Their Social Media Pages For £100,000

If you’re a die-hard Manchester United fan who loves to use social media, you stand the chance to be employed by the Red Devils if you’re ready to look after their 1.1 billion fans on Twitter and Instagram. The club posted a job advertisement stating that the qualified candidate will receive £100,000 yearly. To qualify for the job, you must be a young but vibrant change catalyst who is tech-savvy and innovative. You must be creative and come up with new and improved ways to keep fans connected to the club.

Your job isn’t just going to be limited to making social media posts. You will manage a team of other social media specialists. As part of your content marketing strategy, you will work with Manchester United players and their agents. Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean you will have access to the personal pages of the players. You will only have access to the club’s social media portfolios but you can give players recommendations. Part of the job posting was as follows; “We need an industry leader who is creative, organized and experienced in the social media niche.”

The qualified applicant needs at least 5 years of experience in running social media pages for large brands in the sports industry. If you don’t have up to five years of experience, you can still apply for the job if you have a Bachelor’s Degree. It’s not a surprise that the Red Devils are looking for a new social media manager as they have suffered backlash several times recently due to their social media posts.

Several players have been called out on social media for their questionable posts. Not too long ago, Jesse Lingard was asked to reduce his activity on social media after he posted several crude images of himself and his friends during a vacation in Miami.
